The 6-layer restoration system

Every cold room gets the full system — six layers engineered to remove the cause of condensation, not paint over it.

Vapour Barrier Installation

We start by installing a professional-grade vapour barrier over the interior surfaces of your cold cellar. This is the critical first layer that stops warm, humid air from reaching the cold concrete and condensing into water.

Polymer Cement Installation

A base coat of polymer-modified cement is applied over the barrier. Polymer cement bonds aggressively, resists moisture and creates a solid foundation for the insulation system.

EPS Insulation Foam Installation

Rigid EPS insulation foam panels thermally break the cold concrete from the room. Surfaces stay above the dew point — the root cause of condensation is eliminated, not painted over.

Fibre Mesh Installation

A reinforcing fibre mesh is embedded across the insulation. It ties the entire system together, prevents cracking and gives the finish coats long-term structural strength.

Skim Coat of Polymer Cement

A smooth skim coat of polymer cement is trowelled over the mesh, levelling the surface and sealing the system into one continuous, moisture-resistant shell.

Acrylic Finish Coat Installation

Finally, a durable acrylic finish coat is applied in the colour of your choice from our 92-colour chart. The result: a clean, bright, dry cold cellar that stays that way.

Why it works

We remove the cause, not the symptom

Condensation happens when warm, humid air touches a surface colder than the dew point. Every "fix" that ignores that physics — paint, fans, dehumidifiers — fails, because the concrete stays cold and the moisture keeps coming.

Our system insulates the cold concrete behind a sealed, continuous shell. Surface temperatures rise above the dew point, so condensation can't form. That's why the fix is permanent.

Process questions

01 How long does a cold cellar restoration take?
Most cold cellars are completed in a few days, depending on the size of the room and how much moisture damage needs repair first. We confirm the timeline in your free quote.
02 Do I need to empty my cold cellar before you start?
Yes — the room should be cleared of shelving and stored items so every surface can be treated. It’s a good opportunity to sort what you’ve been storing, and the finished room will be worth it.
03 Will the repair stop water coming through the porch slab?
The system is designed for exactly that. Cracks and entry points are addressed, then the vapour barrier, polymer cement, insulation, mesh and finish coats create a continuous moisture-resistant shell over the concrete.
04 Why not just paint the cold cellar with waterproof paint?
Waterproof paint traps moisture inside cold concrete and peels off — usually within a year. Our system insulates the surfaces above the dew point so condensation physically cannot form, then finishes them with a breathable acrylic coat.
05 Can I choose the finish colour?
Yes — the final acrylic coat comes in 92 colours. Browse the colour chart and pick your favourite.
