Why we exist

Say goodbye to extreme condensation

Coldcellar.pro is dedicated to one thing: fixing cold cellars. Cold rooms across the GTA suffer from extreme condensation — water dripping from the ceiling, soaking the walls, rusting shelves, peeling paint and feeding mould.

We developed a purpose-built, six-layer restoration system that eliminates the problem at its source. No fans, no dehumidifiers, no repainting every spring — a permanent fix, finished in the colour of your choice.

The only company in Canada offering specialized cold room and cold cellar refinishing services.

The process

The 6-layer restoration system

Every cold room gets the full system — six layers engineered to remove the cause of condensation, not paint over it.

Vapour Barrier Installation

We start by installing a professional-grade vapour barrier over the interior surfaces of your cold cellar. This is the critical first layer that stops warm, humid air from reaching the cold concrete and condensing into water.

Polymer Cement Installation

A base coat of polymer-modified cement is applied over the barrier. Polymer cement bonds aggressively, resists moisture and creates a solid foundation for the insulation system.

EPS Insulation Foam Installation

Rigid EPS insulation foam panels thermally break the cold concrete from the room. Surfaces stay above the dew point — the root cause of condensation is eliminated, not painted over.

Fibre Mesh Installation

A reinforcing fibre mesh is embedded across the insulation. It ties the entire system together, prevents cracking and gives the finish coats long-term structural strength.

Skim Coat of Polymer Cement

A smooth skim coat of polymer cement is trowelled over the mesh, levelling the surface and sealing the system into one continuous, moisture-resistant shell.

Acrylic Finish Coat Installation

Finally, a durable acrylic finish coat is applied in the colour of your choice from our 92-colour chart. The result: a clean, bright, dry cold cellar that stays that way.

The specialists

Cold cellar repair specialists serving the Greater Toronto Area

If you notice water dripping from your cold room ceiling, white powdery stains (efflorescence) creeping across the walls, a musty smell, or paint bubbling and flaking off the concrete — your cold cellar is telling you it has a moisture problem. Left alone, it only gets worse.

Cold Cellar Pro repairs condensation, humidity and mould problems in cold cellars and cold rooms every day. It's not one of many services we offer — it's the only thing we do, and nobody in the GTA has restored more of them.

FAQ

Cold cellar questions, answered

01 What is a cold cellar?
A cold cellar (also called a cold room, root cellar or cantina) is the unheated concrete storage room built under the front porch of many GTA homes. It stays naturally cool year-round — perfect for preserves, wine and produce — but the same cold concrete makes it prone to condensation, dripping and mould. Read our full guide: What is a cold cellar?
02 Why is my cold room dripping and wet?
Warm, humid house air touches the cold concrete walls and ceiling and condenses into water — the same way a cold drink sweats. Rain can also seep through the porch slab above. Paint and dehumidifiers only fight the symptoms; our 6-step system removes the cause.
03 Can you fix mould and white stains in my cold cellar?
Yes. Mould and white mineral stains (efflorescence) are both symptoms of moisture moving through the concrete. We treat the surfaces, seal the moisture at its source, then rebuild the room with vapour barrier, insulation, polymer cement and an acrylic finish.
04 How much does cold cellar repair cost in the GTA?
Every room is different — size, damage and access all matter — so we quote each job after a free assessment. See our cost guide for what drives the price, or call for a free quote.
05 Do you serve my area?
We restore cold cellars across the entire Greater Toronto Area from our shop in Woodbridge — Toronto, Vaughan, Mississauga, Brampton, Richmond Hill, Markham, Oakville, Newmarket, Ajax, Pickering and Oshawa. Call +1 647 296-4200 for a free quote.
06 Is painting my cold cellar enough to stop the moisture?
No. Regular paint traps moisture inside the concrete and peels off within months. A cold cellar needs a breathable, purpose-built coating system over proper insulation and vapour barrier — that is exactly what our 6-step restoration installs.
