Leaky Cold Cellar: Why Water Gets In and How to Fix It Permanently

A leaky cold cellar is more than condensation. When you see active drips during or after rain, water is physically travelling through the concrete above your head — through cracks in the porch slab, failed joints where the porch meets the house, or porous concrete that soaks water like a sponge.

Where the water actually comes from

• Cracks in the porch slab — freeze-thaw cycles open hairline cracks that widen every winter
